FISH CAMP, Calif., March 26, 2012 – Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite will honor Earth Hour weekend with eco-activities and actions in keeping with its own environmental sustainability and parent Delaware North Companies’ green travel industry leadership.
    Organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Earth Hour will be celebrated worldwide from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2012.  From its inception as a single-city initiative in 2007, Earth Hour has grown into a global movement where hundreds of millions of people from every continent join together to acknowledge the importance of protecting our planet.
    Tenaya Lodge will encourage guests to power down, turn off the lights in their rooms and head to the lodge’s lobby for special Earth Hour Events. In addition, the lodge will be shutting off any non-essential lighting on the premises.  Tenaya Lodge will also celebrate Earth Hour with fun guest activities including:

* Lantern Project Workshop:  From 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, guests will join with Tenaya Lodge associates to make lanterns that will illuminate the Lobby during Earth Hour;
* Ascent Spa at Tenaya Lodge will offer samples of its organic and eco-friendly spa products in from 4:30 to 9:30 pm Saturday and chair massages in the lobby from 8:30 to 9:30 pm during Earth Hour, and 20% off all eco-friendly spa products and merchandise all day;
* During Earth Hour from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., guests can hop on the “Malibu Bike” and use pedal power to mix their own complimentary drinks.  Also in the lobby, Chef Frederick Clabaugh will host an “Action Station” with local/sustainable menu items to taste;
* The Tenaya Lodge Gift Shop will offer a 20% savings off the purchase of any “green” products on Friday and Saturday;
* Sierra Restaurant and Jackalope’s Bar & Grill will offer organic and sustainable menu specials throughout the weekend.

    Tenaya Lodge’s participation is only natural, as its parent company, Delaware North Companies, is an industry leader in environmental stewardship. GreenPath® is Delaware North’s ISO 14001-registered environmental management system to protect the special places it operates in.  Delaware North was a leader in eco-friendly travel long before it was a household phrase.
    Tenaya Lodge is also a newly-certified Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver property, the official U.S. Green Building Council standard that recognizes the resort’s sustainable building and operating principles and practices.
